One Week with Windows 10

So I've had the chance to officially use Windows 10 since its release and I must say that I am extremely impressed. While I had used it in a testing capacity prior to general release, I never used it on my primary computers (Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Microsoft Surface 3) as my daily driver until now. So far, my first impressions are pretty positive. After a week of continued use of Windows 10, I must say that it’s a drastic improvement over previous versions of Windows. In fact, never have I ever been excited about a release of Windows as I have with Windows 10.

Using the reservation system, media creation tool and a retail USB drive (I always buy a copy of Windows),  I was able to successfully install Windows 10 on the following devices (personal and work):

  • Surface Pro 2
  • Surface Pro 3
  • Surface 3
  • Dell Inspiron 11
  • Dell Inspiron Micro
  • HP Stream 7
  • Sony VAIO Tap

There are literally hundreds of Windows 10 reviews online, so I won't bore you with another one. However, I will say that by combining the best of Windows 7 with the best of Windows 8.1, and introducing new features, such as Cortana, Continuum, Microsoft Edge and Windows Hello, Microsoft has released the most compelling version of Windows ever. I am looking forward to doing a deep dive into the features of Windows 10 especially the new security features. Stay tuned.
